Over the last 6 months or so, I have noticed little tweaks to the little things on the site.

Most noticeable was the fixing of the Wheel of Mediocrity in Oct. and in Dec, the NC Mall items not to expire, but more recently a few other things have popped up.

I have just found that TNT have stopped using the middle endian form way of dating, eg, MM/DD/YY and is now using the little endian form of DD/MM/YY. (this form is more widely used)

I am not sure where else this shows up but it is most noticeable in the Petpage Stats page as I screenie this every day and update my guide with the new figures.

I am wondering why so many little changes have been made over the last 6 months or so.

I'm guessing they've had a lot of updates planned ever since Viacom took over, but with the reorganisation, planning and everything else, they've only recently started (well, since the new layout and pet customisation that is) working on everything. It may even be possible that all those planned updates couldn't be made until after the revamp

Holy Mackerel!

The shops top bar has been replaced with text links.

I think I like it.

EDIT: Especially because "price changes" has been removed.

EDIT2: Wait, is this going to become a text-based game like a MUD, or Space Quest?

I just got on line and saw those text links. I liked the yellow menu bar. :(

It's going to take some getting used to, I guess.

I don't have much of a problem with all these little tweaks, as long as they don't infringe on the site's personality and make it get too generic.

I just saw this, too. It feels as though something is missing. I think I'll get used to it.

I honestly hope they didn't get rid of the toolbar in order to make room for yet ANOTHER AD. I mean, we are pretty well plastered with enough ads as it is. Ads to the top..to the bottom..to the side. We do NOT need one in the freaking middle of the page where the toolbar used to be.

It feels so...empty. I mean, that bar has been there for *ages*. Makes me feel sad. I'm not sure I'll adjust to it very easily. :(

I think they'll be putting a different bar there. It's not like them to go from an image to text.

I sure hope so. I hope this doesn't happen:

Neopet's Executive: Hey..white space. You know what this means?
Neopet's Executive: Yeah..we can sell white space as space for an ad.
Neopet's Executive: Yeah, and this is a prominent spot too. Right in the middle where users pretty much have to look at it. Even if they don't click it, they'll definitely have to see it there. We'll get them subconciously thinking about the product. Every time they go to the shops page the ad will be RIGHT THERE in their FACE! Yeah, we can charge extra for that!

Yeah i agree.
I just noticed it and, at least at the moment, it's much harder to navigate with the text links. Perhaps I'll get used to it. But the text links require more time (i have to read them instead of quickly assessing them on shape and color) and thus make it harder for me to get to my inventory/shop/SDB. In particular the inventory & SDB since they don't have links on the drop down menu.

Also the links don't seem to be in the same order that the bar was so I'm immediately wanting to click the first couple of links for my shop and inventory and now that's wrong.
It makes it harder to get to the user centered links, which are the ones I use most often.

If they do keep the text i hope they tweak the link order a little bit.

Ugh, the text is horrible :x

I love that they're trying to update the little things, but I really wish they'd get around to the big things, like opening the pound and updating the Battledome.

I think the text is really ugly. I wish they would have replaced it with maybe a prettier toolbar or left it the way it was...

Ugh, I hope this is just temporary. Personally, I'd like it if they could make a little toolbar that matches our site theme. Don't know how easy it'd be though.

I like those little images. With text, I'll have to read all the links carefully just to make sure I'm clicking on the right one.
