Re: The Return of Dr. Sloth [Split 11]

Well, it would seem that the Sloth plot is officially over. (Yes, I still held out a slim hope that it was a fake ending.) They have a page up where you can see your plot points, as well as how you did on some of the individual steps.

http://www.neopets.com/space/ros/stats.phtml

They have results for the individual parts of the token testing, as well as the group parts, which is kind of cool. I made 19 rods, created 57 acids, ( :o ) and found 41 singularities. My ranks were Scrap Scraper, pH Balancer, and String Theorist, respectively. :P I did a lot less of the group testing, so for those I ended up as Plasma Misplacer, Acid Spiller, and Slide Ruler.

Apparently there were indeed win limits on the challengers, as I made all of the limits except the one on the grundobot. (Based on my results, the limit was somewhere between 15 and 35 wins, which is way too low in my opinion.)

Overall, I'm a Defender of the Cosmos, (echo-ey voice right there ;) ) which makes me pretty happy. I just hope the prizes are worth it.

*Edit* Oooh, and I just noticed, there's a place at the top of the page where you can look for other player's plot results. Sweet. :D

I love how they pretended to have 11 puzzle steps when there were only 3. And it looks like the easy ones counted for each level, whereas the tedious codes were only one step (though my guess is this is probably due to the calculator).

I was a resistance commander at 54,300 points. I made 5 control rods (scrap scraper), no acid (vinaigrette maker), and 3 singularities (string theorist). I completed 0 tests (plasma misplacer, acid spiller, slide ruler) because when I finally got it, my group sucked. I beat the first opponent 90 times (woo for a win limit in the 30-range), but the 2nd guys only 14 times, 23x for scouts, 4x for militia, and 0 for Riilan and Grundobot -- I had a bunch of losses, but just couldn't eke out a win or even a draw. If prices deflate a bit, I'll be buying a 100% freezer for the next plot/war, and investing in some training.

Pfeh. I'm still bitter about being entirely too busy to do the acid/rod/what-the-hell-ever was in the 4th step, and then when I actually got the chance to sit down to try I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do.

Also, the win limits look beyond ridiculous. I don't think they should exist at all, personally (you deserve what you can earn), but they appear to be way way way too low. If anyone's trying to figure the limits out these were my battles:

GEJS: 500 (win limit)
GESC: 100 (win limit)
GESR: 15 (NOT win limit)
MGS: 125 (win limit)
VM: 57 (win limit)
PGB: 0 (NOT win limit, obviously)

Edit: LOL!! I helped my mom get into neo while I was on spring break, so she did the "Series of Tubes" steps and all the mods except the 3-mods (which she got ZERO credit for, which I very much disagree with). Anyway, she got:

I suppose I can deal with that :)

Surprisingly, I managed to snag a "Neo Elite" trophy with 42,060 points.

I still really wish that the plot hadn't happened at the same time as Daily Dare. Having to decide which one to take part in really wasn't cool. But I'm happy that I got that many points, and I'm looking forward to what the prizes might be :)

my results under spoiler... BUT i gotta say that from what i read from others im not happy did i do things and get the same score as someone who did nothing?! If so that's some bull.

*EDIT*

Yea i just looked at a friends score who i knew didnt do any of the group testing and we have the same rank under each of those..... THAT makes me VERY angry!!! 0 should have a different rank then even doing 1 I mean that's some crap seriously. grr

yeah, I don't get it. I didn't get near as many win limits as several other people here got, and not a huge amount of singularities found, so how did I end up with so many points? I did actually finish all of the 3 mods, not just the one from Comm. Garoo. So, I wonder if doing more of those counted for more points or not?

*edit*
Ruby, looking over your results from the group testing shows that you have the same level as the beginners do...even though you completed more than 14/15 each! Good grief, I wonder how many you had to do to move to the next level? Obviously this part of the scoring doesn't quite reflect the amount of time & effort it took to complete one of these tests!! I think after completing...say 5 group test should have qualified you to the next level. I'm thinking that would have at least been over an hour if not several hours waiting for people to get it right then to stick with it.

*pouts for you*

I'm kinda really bummed about the win limits. From what the neoboards are saying {shudders} the win limit is at 30 for all challengers. And I guess I should've done a LOT more testing, cause apparently there's people who make 88k+ plot points. Ah well. I'm not counting on having a shot at the best prize now, even though I'm in the top trophy rank. {shrugs} On the other hand, those people maxed out all the enemies, and did slightly more than twice the number of group tests and a lot more individual tests than I did. I still wish we'd gotten extra points for speed on completing the steps, as I think I was one of the first that completed the mods section. {shrugs}

Interesting that we got credit for individual parts of the group activities - I had to go to bed before we completed the singularity for one room, but still apparently got credit for the first two sections. That's kinda cool.

On a side note, my husband got 2k more points than me, but he did less individual testing and got closer to maxing out the two I didn't. So I guess the harder guys were worth a decent amount of points per win, and the individual tests weren't worth much (we'd done the same amount of group tests, since we worked in the same group together the whole time).

But I'm still surprised they got the points out this fast! :o

I think with so few steps it was easy for them to add points. even tho they tried to make it sound like a ton of steps there really wasnt so not so hard to add. plus there where a ton of people who didnt make it past the mods.

*eyes Daze's post*

okay what the heck what was the next step up for the group 'ranks' because you have the same as someone who did 0 as well!

I really like the trophies, though. Even the tourist is a cute trophy. :)

Maybe they messed up the code for the group testing ranks, and they'll update it in the next few days -- because 25 successful tests should not be ranked the same as 0.

Maybe there was a speed component? Because if not, I really shouldn't have scored higher than Ruby -- I had a few more battledome wins, but no successful tests. Of course, maybe TNT weighted the group tests lower because it relied on finding others who also knew what they were doing. *shrugs*

I really hope you are right because otherwise that's just stupid (for lack of a better word that is board appropriate) on TNT's part if that IS how it is ranked.
