I listened to some songs the other night on the radio. The thing about the station I listen to is that I often hear songs I like, but they play so much of new things that it is hard to hear the same songs more than a few times. (But it is either this station or country, and I am kind of tired of country for a while. ) Anyway, I didn't hear much of the song but the main lyrics which was

"We were meant to live for so much more, but we lost ourselves."

And I really wanted to know who sang it or the lyrics but whenever I look that up on the internet I am just getting blogs. It is weird how many different blogs I am getting.

Oh I meant to post this in off topic! How do I move it?!

I think this is it (its the results I got on my searches anyways):

Meant To Live
by Switchfoot
Album : A Beautiful Letdown

Fumbling his confidence
And wondering why the world has passed him by
Hoping that he’s bent for more than arguments
And failed attempts to fly, fly

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

Dreaming about Providence
And whether mice or men have second tries
Maybe we’ve been livin with our eyes half open
Maybe we’re bent and broken, broken

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside
Somewhere we live inside
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
Somewhere we live inside

We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than this world’s got to offer
We want more than the wars of our fathers
And everything inside screams for second life

We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live for so much more
Have we lost ourselves?
We were meant to live
We were meant to live

Some advice when searching for lyrics at a Search Engine such as Yahoo actually put the lyrics in "" and then put +lyrics. I usually manage to find what I'm looking for that way.

I think its by Switchfoot and it's a song called Meant To Live.

Next time just put the word lyrics behind the phrase and you'll get the song lyrics instead of blogs

Here's a tip for finding lyrics whenever you want.

If I was looking for what you wanted, for example, I would go:

"we were meant to live for so much more" "lost ourselves" lyrics

in the Google search engine. If it doesn't work, I'd pick different extracts from the words till I found it. ^_^

Hope that helps for next time.

Okay, this is a bit strange, but I'll try and explain. Firstly, I heard this song in a mates car. It was on a mix CD that his friend gave him. Neither of them know who it's by, or whether it has been released or what. I don't even know what it's called. These are the words that I can recall:

Excuse, I think you wanna hear this...

(bla blahablaba)

My friends say you play, critizing you all day, but baby I'm hooked on you

My conscience gone acrue, but baby I'm hooked on you

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but do you know what this song is?!

This song does not exist on either Google or Altavista.

The closest match I could find is "Hooked on you," by Dreamstreet.

Exactly the same here, that's the song I was going to post.

Lets Sing It doesn't have it. Unless maybe the lyrics engine has gone haywire. I can't find the song by Jars of Clay I was looking for. :x
