Hmm, where's that thing I made and posted in my LJ so long ago...aha! The HTML isn't working, so I'll just take the text. I copied the outline from Blogthings
Posted April 6, 2006, and created a while before that.
You Know You're Addicted to PPT When...
You start calling your RL friend who goes to PPT by their username.
You start calling yourself by your PPT username.
You name your kids Yukio, Jim, Hunter, and/or Rune.
You know what PI is.
You have three pages' worth of quotes from PPT saved on your computer.
You've written essays for school about PPT.
You start referring to your parents as "the mods" or "the admins".
You've written stories about people from PPT.
You spend more than three hours on PPT per day.
Your parents have limited your computer time so you can't spend three hours on PPT per day.
You're a mod.
All your sentences start with something along the lines of "Once, on PPT..."
Your RL friends know what PPT is.
You don't have any RL friends...and you couldn't care less.
You type over 40 WPM using two fingers.
You have PPT as your homepage, and you never get frustrated because PPT is loading while you're trying to go to another page, because you were going to PPT in the first place.
You chat on PPT when you're supposed to be doing homework.
Your parents watch you do your homework, just to make sure you don't go on PPT.
When your mom/dad gives a talk at work, they bring home a ribbon that says "Moderator" because they think you'll like it.
You save the ribbon for when you do become a mod.
Your parents ask you "So, what's new on PPT?"
You expect everyone who knows about PPT to know that it's NOT called "PinkPoogleToy" anymore because they got in trouble with Neopets and now it's just PPT.
While chatting with one of your RL friends over IM, you constantly have to remind yourself that these people aren't PPTers and therefore are still in the habit of using chatspeak, lowercase letters, and no punctuation.
When you and your family go on vacation, you repeatedly ask to use your mom's/dad's laptop.
You expect all of your RL friends to know what a forum is.
You've won a PPTbie.
You know what the PPTbies are.
If one of your online friends leaves PPT, you become depressed IRL...and show it.
When you write something up on the board at school, your mind refers to it as posting.
You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to PPT.
No, I never officially left; yes, I am gone forever. I have also permanently left AIM. If you need to contact me, drop a line on LJ. Same username.
