Well I hope we keep winning. Won't be able to play so much this round because I have to do some paperwork for my licensure exams, and we all know how government bureaucracy and red tape goes

Re: Altador Cup III (2008) - Split III
So we did... I had in my head that we lost because we didn't win a game for ages, I forgot we actually drew quite a few.Byakuya San wrote:gingernut wrote:Yay to Shenkuu winning another YYB, pity it wasn't another clean sweep though. Kreludor should be a tough match, they drew against Darigan whereas Darigan beat us in all three games, so we'll have to work hard against them.
Actually, we drew with them in all three games too.
I've done my bit for today, I'm on rank nine now, glad to get rid of the stone shields!

Re: Altador Cup III (2008) - Split III
I gots a question.
I'm playing AC on firefox and i cannot figure out how to get my players to return to there starting position!! I press the up arrow and nothing happens so not only do i have to dodge all the other teams players I have to dodge my own that are standing in the way... this is horridly annoying. Am i doing something wrong? is there just a huge glitch any suggestions?
Also if this has been brought up already please just point me in the right direction Or PM me, I'd appreciate it. (I think my brain would melt if i tried to read everything cause the math in this split just made my head hurt lol)

Try the shift key? That should return them all but your active one...unless an opponents player is in the way.

You know, it is amazingly difficult to play Slushie Slinger during a sneezing fit. ^.^;
On the bright side, I can tell you with 100% certainty that a score of 310 is enough to count that game for half a rank point. (Unless I missed someone posting a possible threshold score after the person who should have advanced a rank with scores over 250 but didn't? Um. ^.^; Then I guess this wouldn't be at all helpful. ...Darn these allergies, anyway.)

Do not feel bad, I made the exact same mistake at first.
'Course, I have been known to overlook the blatantly obvious before...

Eee. After a quick house move I am back online. Yay Rooligans for keeping the side going!
And kudos to the Lost Desert for your clean sweep against us - we underestimated you last year as well.
It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling when TNT use the fan name "Rooligans" to describe us in their official cup news.

I just thought of something.
I've been trying to get the highest scores/game as possible, and I've been constantly hating how the game takes 8 seconds from the timer with every goal.
But look at it from the other side: assume an average game for me, say 10 points. That's 80 seconds you don't have to play for a Game Won on your scoreboard. That's one minute and 20 seconds, nearly half of the time a game would take in full.
With my top score of 14-0, that's 116 seconds from the timer - 109 if you assume the final goal fell in the very last second. That's barely a minute of actual play left.
These 8 second time outs mean that people that score lots of goals per game not only yank up more points/game, they also get in a ton more games per time unit played.
Doesn't annoy me as much now. xD
ETA: w00t, another 14-0. My third. 15-0 remains elusive; I think that requires you to score every ball either the first try or in the immediate rebound.

Whoot! Finally got rank 1/50 wins!
Reading this thread really makes me feel like a slacker though. I mean really, some people are aiming for 2,000 wins? O.O

Some people are overachievers.
Then again, I'd probably be near that goal in the end if I'd been playing consistently- I took a several day hiatus for things like the family reunion and getting my wisdom teeth removed.
Scratch that. People are still overachievers.

Does the cup end Sunday, the 28 of June? Or is it going into July? This is my first year participating in this.

It'll go into July. It's a double round robin, and we're not even through the first round yet. Next weeks schedual will be up around/on saturday and you can see who you're up against then.

If you participate in Altador Cup in any way, you will receive points that you can exchange for prizes in the Prize Shop, which opens at the end of the tournament on July 21st. Of course, the more you participate, the more points you'll earn.
From the Rules FAQ page.
