Meet Dave - No Longer Available

#1 Post by Pink »

Welcome to the Meet Dave puzzle thread. Here, members may post the question of the day as well as the answer and the day's prize. One rule, the answer and prize must be in spoiler tags, in case anyone wants to answer the puzzle without help :)

EDIT: To help with keeping this thread up-to-date, if you were the last to post and have something new to add, you can either edit your last post or follow the following steps:

1. Copy your original post.
2. Delete your original post.
3. Create a new post.
4. Paste your original post.
5. Add any new content.

This way, you won't be double-posting, but the material will still show up as new for other members :)

The game seems only available for US residents (again). :(

Which artery, the largest in the human body, has a diameter of 3/4 to 1 inch, similar to that of a garden hose?

Is there any way of being able to play it anywhere other than the US like changing the country on user prefs? Oh and does it count as a played game?

I'm not sure if you can do that with the country thing...and it's not really a game...it's more like a daily.

What is the space between your eyebrows called?

Glabella

I knew the combination of 5th grade science, Jeopardy, and The Straight Dope would come in handy some day.

Okay, who would have thought that would even have a name? So is it polite to tell someone they have
a hirsute glabella
rather than a unibrow?

Matrinka, if you knew that without looking it up, major props to you. I haven't seen that one in fifth grade science or Jeopardy! -- nor even in my biology or biochemistry classes (my majors in college).

Thanks for the head's up, by the way!

...All I remember from fifth grade science is that sheep hearts look really really weird. D;

You would never guess this, due to my lack of grammar and summer addiction to Neopets... but I teach 5th grade. I know all kinds of bizarre trivia in an array of subjects. :)

Mine is very aloof - I had to fork out 400 dollars as worldly matters (read, sound) were not reaching it the other day, though I had insurance, so not that bad.
