Supposedly, it was going to be a plot clue but that idea was trashed so it's just something to waste time on.

I've heard a rumour that if you click on the plushie and get it to say "..." before visiting the healing springs, you'll have more of a chance of getting your pets completely healed.
It's worked like that for me every time I've done that, but truth is that I haven't tried that too many times. XD
