There isn't. Avatar.starried.net surveys people every year to try to figure out what activities might be related, and they have the results posted on their site. My current hypothesis is that it might be related to playing a winter-themed game at a certain time in Dec., since it's not the Advent Calendar or having a wintery petpet. If you figure it out, let me know so I can get it, too.

I alternate between purple, blue, and green. It just depends on my mood. I'm currently using purple. Blue is for when I'm sad, and green is for when I'm mad. Purple is happy/normal.

Cyodrake's Gaze on my main, Valentine's on my side.

Apparently one of my hallmates uses Cyodrake's Gaze; I was playing the other day and she knew immediately what I was up to before half the page had loaded.

I just switched to Winter Holiday theme for the Advent season. The rest of the year is usually Dr. Sloth.

Just got the purple one so am trying to get used to it. Its a bit bright for my liking though after using the Constellations one for a while and before then Sloth. They're both much mellower!

At any time between 11:59:00 pm NST and 11:59:59 pm NST on Halloween (October 31st which this year falls on a Saturday), you must refresh anywhere on Neopets to get it.
