yeah it was on the dailies list so i do it everyday. but uhh what does it actually do? other than giving you random junk.

As your fishing skill improves, you can get stuff that's actually worth something. Kinda. Don't expect too much: It's still a daily like the omelette or jelly.

crash_bandicoot_psx's petpage has a great run-down on avatars and items available from Underwater Fishing, including the skill level you need to catch each item. (The layout's a bit iffy, but you can't have everything.) Some of the items are genuinely pretty nifty for a daily prize.
