Advent Calendar 2008 [split #1]

I did NOT have any snow items in my inventory when I collected my prize this morning, and still received the sidebar.

My inventory was thus:
-Rainbow Gelert Plushie
-Golden Mechafish
-Frozen Mechafish
-Pirate Ship Float Pen(trading)
-Dark Sceptre(trading)
-Earth Sceptre(trading)
-Fire Scepter(trading)
-Water Sceptre(trading)
-Air Sceptre(trading)
-Light Sceptre(trading)

Better yet, I've had nothing in my inventory for more than a few moments. The only stuff that'd wondered in there were the Calendar items, and they all got quickly put into closet.

And, yes, I got the sidebar. So, collecting every day must be the requirement.

I got the sidebar. I accidently had two snowflake items in my inventory at the time. Snowflake Cake and Snowflake Holiday Compact.

LOL, notice that the emergency bucket of water isn't furniture, it's wearable. Just enough to keep a neopet safe when the house burns down.

- I played winter/snow games
- I collected everyday and made sure I had at least 1 of each Advent item in my SDB
- I visited the Snowager
- -Had a snowball and snowflake in my inventory
- visited advent first thing on neopets, before any other dailies
- Delighted pet

No "Winter Holiday" Sidebar today for me!

EDIT: But you can't get it if you already have it.

After digging through my posts I have realised that in 2006 I did manage actually to get the Winter Sidebar and the only things that happened to me in December 2006 on Neopets was collecting all the advent calender items, getting a Winter Random Event while at the Advent Calendar and getting a prize from a scratchcard that I got from the Snowager.

It's frustrating that we haven't figured out the side bar yet. But I suppose it's not unexpected since there have been so few real chances to try it.

I know avatar log is doing it's Winter Site Theme Survey again this year. Maybe it'll shed some light on the issue. Consider filling it out if you got (or failed to get) the site theme this year.

They have an interesting idea this year about the advent calendar tracking cookies that neopets uses, which I am keen to see the results of.

I already got the Winter Sidebar last year by luck. Even though some of the prizes were lame, this has been a good year on Neopets.
