As long as it's at least 48 hours after you post the questions, whatever time you decide is fine, since you'll be the one collecting answers and scoring it. If 7pm NST works for you, I'll edit the first post to reflect this info.

Just a heads up. I'm going to be away for most of Saturday and part of Sunday. My sister's birthday is on Saturday, and instead of driving back late that night, we are just going to stay at her house.

This game is fun. A bunch of interesting facts and details. xD

Thank you. :)

Round 2 Answers: pipsqueeek
1- You can learn Japanese or Chinese at this college's famous summer program. - Middlebury College
2- This year, as a senior, I get to have a solo number in the ice show that is a part of this larger event put on by the college. - Winter Carnival
3- On October 22, 2007, much of downtown(including the high school) was evacuated after this happened for fear of chemicals in the air. - Train Derailment
4- This national historic site was vandalised last year mostly by students from my high school during a party over christmas vacation. - Robert Frost's Cabin (Homer Noble Farm)
5- In the winter, you can go down Lang, Allen, or anything in between at this place where I work as an instructor. - Middlebury College Snow Bowl
6- About half an hour away is this lake that, while not a great lake, recieves goverment funds associated with the great lakes. - Lake Champlain
7- My dad is on the organising commitee for this annual event which features a week of free concerts. - Festival on the Green
8- This bridge appeared in the movie Me, Myself & Irene. - Marble Works footbridge (Otter creek footbridge accepted, 'cause I'm not actually sure the official name :P)
9- This covered bridge built in 1820 is still in use today. - Pulp Mill Bridge
10- A small park across from the library has a marker commemorating this man whose invention was important for agriculture in the Midwest. - John Deere

Round 2 Results: pipsqueeek
Player - Score - (missed clues)
Siniri - 19 - (10)
Mongrel - 19 - (7)
Miyu - 19 - (8)
StuMan - 1 - (all but 8)
DM - 0
Pixa - no answers

The first thing I thought of to have as a clue was Middlebury College. I figured I'd go with something about the language program. I then found out that if you google college language, Middlebury College is the first thing to pop up. So I tried to word it in a way that would get you to either google too much or the wrong stuff. Out of curiosity, how successful was I?
Siniri probably would have gotten a perfect score if she'd read the last question :P
I'm also curious as to how StuMan managed to get the footbridge question while being in the completely wrong state.
I'm too lazy to find links for everything, but if there's something you've got a question about, don't hesitate to ask. Same goes for any protests you've got.

Cumulative Results
Mongrel - 38.5
Miyu - 37.5
pipsqueeek - 20
Siniri - 19
StuMan - 3
DM - 0
Pixa - 0

So, I guess Mongrel's up for the next round.

I did read the question -- I just didn't pay attention to what was underlined. :P I knew I should have waited until morning and checked over my answers one more time before PM'ing you. Especially since I took so dang long finding the answer to that clue. *shrugs*

I decided to start with clue 3 because of the date but got stuck on Worcester MA, so then I was looking at colleges in Worcester. I think I googled "college language summer Worcester." If I'd left off the Worcester, Middlebury'd have been first.

Oh, and I totally want to go the Festival on the Green. It made me think of Stars Hollow (I was a huge Gilmore Girls fan).

I wonder if there's really an official name for the bridge. I wouldn't have gotten the answer if it were Marble Works Bridge. Amusingly, that clue helped me the most because it gave me a very specific area. (MMI apparently did a lot of filming in Addison County).
Also, stupid me--I missed that I hadn't answered number 7 at all.
I'll post up my questions tomorrow unless Miyu contests her score.

Miyu's out of town until tomorrow, so she won't be able to protest until she gets back. :)

Okay then. Should I post them tonight instead, in hopes of hurrying the game along?

I say go for it, if you've got them ready. She should still have plenty of time to get her answers in.

Okay then, here we go!

Round 3: Mongrel
1. Search for the name of my hometown, and you'll get twenty or so other places, including my hometown's namesake: the oldest US location with this name.
2. One of the most famous alumni of my high school went on to become more famous as a character than as an actor. Know what I mean? Know his real name?
3. It's not news...but many events(e.g.parties) relating to this website happen here, because the founder hails from my town.
4. A President was educated at my hometown's vampirically-named university, and the woman who was First Lady at the same time he was President lived most of her life here--but the two were never married. (Looking for two names here.)
5. One of our schools had the same basketball coach for 41 years. Unfortunately, saying his name in an argument gets you halfway to violating a famous Usenet rule.
6. No discussion of my hometown ever avoids mentioning the breed of racing ungulate it's incredibly obsessed with. Note that it's a breed, not just a species.
7. My town's county is named for a famed French General who helped the Americans in the Revolutionary War.
8. An international Fortune 500 company, that specializes in printers and other imaging supplies, is named for our city and headquartered here.
9. Betcha didn't know this one: the madam(brothel owner) in Gone With The Wind is believed to be based on this real woman who ran brothels in my town.
10. Two well-established fast food restaurant chains got their starts here. One is an Italian fast food franchise, the other a seafood restaurant.

So, what's my hometown?
Answers need to be in by Monday at 9 PM NST.

I think I found the college (99.9% certain), but it doesn't list any presidents among people who attended on its history page (it does list vice presidents and Supreme Court Justices, though, as well as someone who I thought was a president, but upon googling, discovered I was wrong -- perhaps you made the same mistake as me?).

Nope. Definitely a president, definitely attended the university in question.

Well shoot. You'd think the college would celebrate having taught a president -- but I found the answer on another page (although actually, there are claims that there are multiple presidents, though only one fits with the rest of the clue). Thanks for the response.

I think I got one of the questions wrong (b/c my answer doesn't exactly match the clue), but I can't come up with a better alternative answer. It's frustrating, but I don't really want to spend any more time on it. I guess I'll just have to wait and see...
