Yes. Also be sure to keep your father's sword till the very end, it will help you when you encounter the end boss (Spammer Lord Kym, also known as Spam-a-lot-Kym).

You also should try to skill Insanity Resistance up to 14 till the end of the first chapter. You can buy Sanity Potions at the Meepit Oak's, just go twenty steps west from that one city where you start.

Oh, and have some french fries.
