Is anyone as excited about the release of the Sims 3 game as I am?

I love The Sims! I was addicted to the first generation of the Sims games, and bought Sims 2 the day it came out, and of course am addicted to that one as well. I love being able to build and decorate my own houses, and create storylines with my Sims.

The graphics in the Sims 3 look pretty good (from looking at screenshots), and apparently the neighbourhoods will be seamless. So your sim can go throughout the neighbourhood and walk around downtown (I'm hoping this means no need to wait for the annoying taxi to come pick them up lol). You can even visit neighbour's homes! Apparently you can also customize pretty much everything in the game. Which would mean more colour and patterns for your house furnishings and clothing.

The Sims site just says 2009 for the release, but according to Amazon.ca it's set for February 20th, 2009. Can't wait!

Here's info and screenshots from the game:

Even more motivation for me to get a new computer! lol

SOOOOOO excited for The Sims 3!
i have been since last year or whenever i first heard of it.
Only 125ish days left! WOOOOOO

The only problem with it is that my computer can't handle it so i will need to get a new one, which i need to do in any case.

Haha same here! Mine's a laptop about 5 years old now and can currently handle The Sims 2, but it can get pretty slow and laggy. I know it won't be able to handle The Sims 3. I need a new laptop anyways for when I go back to school, and mine's pretty horrible and outdated now.

Looks / sounds quite fun...

But I'm betting on SecuRom, which has made me refuse far more eagerly awaited games on its basic principle, so Sims doesn't have much chance.

Ditto with me! Although my laptop is 4 years old, it has a surprisingly decent graphics card...yet, it lags a bit on Sims 2 and Hinterland. So, I'll need to get a new lappy before getting Sims 3. And that's fine with me..I need a new one anyways. :)

I will say if you go desktop, you can probably pick up a computer that can play this game easily for $500 tops.

But looks pretty good, I haven't played Sims since the first one.

It's already released in the US. I'm getting my copy as we speak. I'm uber excited about this game.

If you get the special edition pack, you get that green diamond USB key ring too!!

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.

The graphics are all going to depend on the specs of the machine you are using.
