Bought a Stagnant Puddle of Water for 17k. Pretty ticked off that I had to buy something for this plot and the fact that the inflation made it rise so much in price.
I don't think I'll be able to finish the plot to get the background. I have 3 2 pieces left. Unless I can possibly get the last component before 1 PM.

Thanks to your help, it looks like the Random Events machine is running again! Yay! If you enjoyed working as a scientist's assistant, you can now visit The Coincidence every day! Go on an errand for Dr Landelbrot, and you just might get to press one of those shiny buttons at the end. That's a worthy reward in itself, right?

ETA: I went, got the requested items...and the thing glitched on me and didn't show me what I got (if I got anything), the timer now shows up, and the items are all still in my inventory.

I've heard people are getting stats to their active, retired avatars, and who knows what items....

Well, I am not impressed with this at all!

Most of the 'junk' itmes are inflating again. What would have cost me 3 nps, cost me 600, and all I got was:

A blue Shoyru zooms up and whizzes past your head. Then she stops in midair and looks confused. 'This isn't Meridell! Where are we?'

So is that it? We now pay for all our RE's, even the stupid ones that don't do anything?

If we do end up paying for REs and get them this way, they're not really Random anymore...
Have any of you guys got an RE recently?

I finished gathering all the parts and assembled everything a few hours before 2 PM today, but now there's a countdown for 6 hours. Rather confused why it extended to 12 AM. I haven't done the "daily" portion yet. I guess I have to wait until 12 to do so.

Pretty disappointed that this turned into a daily just to do, and not something more. Is it similar to the Faerie Quests, but without the levels?

The bit I find annoying is that unlike Taelia's or Illusen's or Jhudora's quests, there's no mechanism for going "that's too expensive, I'm not doing it". My options at this point appear to be "pay a total of about 50,000 NP for two Yellow Growths, or never get another one of these quests ever."

Well, I have yellow growths for you, CW; send me your Neopets username by PM and I"ll send them over.

I, on the other hand, was asked for 2 shoyru gliders -- which I have absolutely none of in my inventory, which means that if it is given out in a daily, it's exceedingly rare, and which are going for 50k apiece. Plus 5k for 1 cheopple (I have one in my SDB but was asked for 2). At least I have 2 Pirate Small Talks (or 36... which means they'd probably be super-cheap even if I didn't have any...)

If I hadn't worked my 4th 10-hour day in a row, I'd start capitalizing on this temporary madness while everyone else is, but I'm too beat. Hopefully TNT will fix it soon, though those of us with "bad" quests might still be screwed.

ETA: I was quick-stocking my daily prizes today and found a shoyru glider (I think from TDMBGPOP...)! Only need 1 more now...

This seems like a ... daily that I may not bother with.

Nothing happens. Nothing at all. You think. You check the bottom of your shoes for squashed butterflies, but find nothing.

Wow. Apparently some people received retired avatars (including things like the stamp avatars and NT avatars, which aren't technically retired at all). Then TNT promptly received too many complaints and deactivated that component.

Since I'm just a few dozen avatars from the avatar-collectors' avatar (or was before TNT started giving them away...), I understand the sentiments of those crying foul. Kudos to anyone who got one, though (it's not their fault, so I can't really begrudge them their luck).

Anyway, still holding out for prices to fall, at least on the Shoyru glider. Apparently you can lose HP with this daily, which is the first thing to do that. But since my battlepet is focused on HP-only training for now, the cost is just not justifiable to me, so my quest is going to sit and rot until I think the price is reasonable.

A crew of Alien Aishas docks with the ship, comes aboard, snaps photos of everything they see, then leaves for their next tourist stop.

At least I got to see it today. But...basically a nada. But I only paid 7 nps total, so I guess I can't complain.

A little headsup about normal random events from Snarkie:

Regular colour changes are no more (and haven't been active for a while). Boochi remains but he's... different now. *shifty eyes*

NO SPOILERS but there's no longer a need for a Boochi blocker.

Some people on the boards thought that it meant Boochi could hit any pet, so Snarkie replied:

Erm, no, I wouldn't say a Boochi blocker wasn't needed if he could now hit any Neopet. That would just be mean. I'm not going to spoil it but he no longer fires willy nilly and he can't hurt your Neopets.

* Received these 3 within 15 minutes of each other. I have been refreshing at the Money Tree (trying to get some quest items). I haven't done a second quest yet due to the expensive items needed.
