Edit: And wow, the staff tourney shop is terrible. One book, a handful of way-overpriced meh wearables, and a bunch of bobbleheads. (The TNT mantra coffee mug would be more interesting if 1) we could actually read the mantra and 2) the mantra was actually funny/profound.) I'm having trouble figuring out what to spend all my points on. Tempted to just buy a bunch of copies of the "book."

Actually, I'm buying 3 books (the name's not confusing at all...), a wearable mantra mug... and I still have 15k left + change. I could get a bobblehead... but I'm not a fan of any of current TNT. (Also bobbleheads kind of freak me out.) Meh. More books it is, I guess... And a bulletin and two lunches.

I received a Legends of Altador Cup - Autographed Copy for participating for the previous however many years it's been now.

I also received the book, and a crappy (already have it) site theme for my mere 13 years of support.

I joined TM this year. The scores aren't currently counting towards rank, so no point playing yet. It's already nearly 25% into day 1. I feel bad for those with limited windows of playtime (especially those in the eastern hemisphere).

Well, hopefully they'll have scores counting soon. I'm not going to even attempt to play until it's working. I'm not sure how much I'll go for this year. We're traveling (for our last time this year, thank goodness), during the cup, so I may not try for All Star. It'll depend on how things go.

ETA: TNT has put up this notice on the AC pages:

They never even properly announced that the games were starting, not even in the news. They had different days in the FAQ and on Twitter/IG. As of last night, no banner on the front page or anything. For their biggest event of the year, they have really dropped the ball.

10 hours into day 1 and people still can't play.

EDIT: You could finally start submitting scores an hour ago. No word from TNT, so assume this will be a 13-hour first day.

Staff Tournament has started. We have until Friday to pick our team.

Good luck, Daze! My schedule is very intense on some days vs. others, plus I have scheduled my personal training certification exam in July, so I have to spend a lot of time studying on my days off, but I'd still like to get at least AS, since I've managed it the last several years. At least some of the bye days match some of my busy days...

Now to look up info on who won the staff tourney last year... Unless someone else wants to do the research and let us know who the best choices are?

I'm hanging in there, maxing out on SOSD every day so far. Rank 7, tally-ho. I'm hoping I'll be able to make All-Star this year, but it'll depend on whether or not I miss any days near the beginning, as I'm fairly certain I won't be playing the last few days. I have no idea what the bye days are and how many total playing days we have, and I can't honestly be bothered to figure that out.

For the staff tourney, I went with: Senor Malo, Agog, Kikocat, Scrappy, and Binary Supagoo (*)
I used JN's data from last year to choose them.

There are 22 days, Pickles. Bye days are Mondays, except the week before finals, when Sunday is also a bye day. No ranking on bye days, most likely. You need to max SOSD (to 400) on all 22 days for AS, so if you're going to miss some, you've got to supplement with other games.

I went with the same team as P, coincidentally (i.e., I think we used the same strategy of picking last year's best players in each category).

Sigh. I was afraid of this. <looks at the dates the cup runs> Lovely. I'm going to miss 4 days, at least. Having 4 days that we can't play really makes it harder. I understand the need for a break, but it was SO nice when you could still rank up on the bye days, in case you had to miss some. Ah well. I'll see if I can make it still, but this year, it'll be rough.
