Moehawk Mug?

What is up with the Moehawk Mug? I had one in my shop for an ungodly sum and it sold. There are NONE on the SW, the TP, or at Auction House.

I checked the 2020 Faerie Quest page at JN, and it is not one of the quest items.

Maybe it's a Coincidence item? Or maybe someone is just buying them all up to artificially drive up the price (it happens - to their own detriment, for items that don't have any intrinsic value).

In regards to the Moehawk stuff, I wonder if someone is a big fan and keeps buying them out or something? I have no idea.


ETA: Apparently, we have a lot of lurkers today or something. I don't think I usually see "91 guests" often. I mean, I could be wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that this thread has drawn some attention.

I sold two mugs at 10k, slightly higher than the "normal" price. I've still got another. Maybe I should hold onto it for now...it might be worth more someday!

Or maybe I should put it in my shop for an unseemly amount and see if anyone buys it anyways? Who knows? I could put a ton of retired/special items in for ridiculous amounts. I doubt any of them would go, but you never know. I sold some old advent calendar stamps I had extras of a few weeks ago for way more than I thought they should be worth, but apparently that's what they're going for now, whether or not certain other websites *cough*JN*cough* report them as being worth.

What it comes down to is this: someone clearly thinks that the Moehawk items are worth buying out. Why? Not a ruddy clue. It's not like they're super special, hard to come by, or anything. Everyone that did advent that day in 2016 got one. And if they're willing to pay ridiculous prices on them to shove in their SDB or gallery or whatever? Uhm...okay? Strange thing to do, but...more power to them. I have over 10k of one item that I bought just because I liked it. At the time, I didn't pay more than 100nps for each one (and definitely stopped collecting them). They're now worth around 400nps. Not exactly the best of profits, especially since it's been over 10 years since I did that, but... <shrugs> To each their own.

For my mug collection, I have paid a lot more than 10k, some more than 500k. One was... really expensive. I was convinced that the one remaining mug I need was non-existent, but one day it actually showed up on the TP... For about 10x what I had in the bank. I may never own that one.
