I just got a text that they're working to restore power at my address... Except I still have it. Guess some of my neighbors don't.

Right now the forecast is for sustained winds between 58 to 73 mph (depending on how it tracks). We're really not built for that, especially being the "city in the forest" with above ground power lines (our sky is so tiny from all the trees... I couldn't avoid parking my car near some, and right behind my building is a woods with trees only fifteen feet away and a whole story taller than the roof -- and I'm on the top floor, so sometimes the branches get blown into my porch in heavy storms).

We still have power, thankfully - several flickers, but it stayed on. Everything is past us now. I'm exhausted from staying up until the winds died back down...which was probably unnecessary, but...ah, well.

I was so exhausted by the non stop weather radio alerts for flash flooding 200 miles away, that by the time I got the text alert at 6am that the worst was going to start in an hour and last for 4, I unplugged and removed the batteries from the weather radio. Never did manage to go back to sleep, though. Hoping for a short nap after dailies.
