Your pet will read any book as long as the book title has a different number of characters (a space is counted as a character) to the name of your pet.

I.e. Book will not be read if the book is called: Book Name and your pet is called: petname21

Book will be read if the book is called: Books Name and your pet is petname21

If a pet rejects a book, switch to a different language and then give it to the pet again.

If the name thing is right, then how come my acara called Zenaera rejected a book called "The Grumpy Acara"?

Because your pet will reject books or petpets that have a certain number of characters, including spaces, equal to one of these formulae:

x*n
(x+1)*n

Where x is the number of letters in your pet's name, and n is some integer greater than or equal to 1.

:o *brain gets scrambled with the math*

Actually, that language thing is pretty spiffy. :D Now if only Neopets would come back to life from downtime so I can try that out....

Heh, I also know from experience that a pet can "forget a book." One day, a random event came up saying something like this: "Its been a long time since a read [book name here], and I forgot what happens at the end." I went to see my pets book list...and that book dissapeared from the list.

thats my favorite trick... all of a sudden the book goes from the name "Famous Lupes" to $#%%)((**#)*%#*%)#@$** and your pet will accept it.... tee hee!

Haha, that's such an awesome thing to do. Never done it before but I'll have to keep it in mind. I wish I had known that when I tried to give a pet a faellie, ended up painting the faellie...but that's been a long time so I'm not sure if it worked back then.
