How longs this been in shops o0

#1 Post by Arnold »

I was just doing a Kquest and was buying a gruel pizza from someones shop and when I clicked buy I got this new screen telling me the transaction had stopped because the price was changed as I was buying it, it seems new to me, and it'l stop that scam what was going around with the price changes.

sorry if this is old news or anything ^^;

I had that a while back.. they change the price either b4 or right at that moment your buying.. they do that so you can change your mind on it after when they changed it..

neo put that in a long time ago to put a stop to a common scam where somone would put an item in their shop for alot less than it was worth and then a couple of seconds later put the price up to alot more than its worth.

For instance you're searching for a vo codestone on the wiz and you see one for 100np, you instantly rush to buy it and they put their price up, in the rush however, you fail to notice that it's now priced at about 20k or somthing and you loose alot of np.

Thats why that screen comes up - its the lastest in scam combat technology :s

Yeah, I like that feature :)

Does anyone know if it also stops the transaction if the price is lowered during purchase?

I don't know if it happens if the price goes down, but I think it says 'The price has changed during the transaction, so any hanges would ecieve the message, it would make sense. Althouh then gain you are always going to want to pay less arn't you?

so that's why at the end of an URL you get from the shop wizard allways says:

"&buy_obj_info_id=9043&buy_cost_neopoints=1349"

...

didn't know it worked for that :)

Yeah, it does. Just yesterday I was going to buy an omelette for 5 nps and it stopped me because the shop owner changed the price to 1 np. It annoyed me a bit, but I like the feature. I almost got scammed out of a few thousand when I was searching for a White Ona. Nifty little feature...very useful. Thank you, TNT!

I first remember running into this feature when the advent calendar was up. There were so many price changers when the prize for the day was just released, at least until this was put into place.Wow. I used to make a nice bit snagging the items from the price changers before they could rip people off.

It's definitely better with this feature. Every now and again I run into someone who is still trying it, but the feature prevents them from taking my np.
