TNT evening out the economy?
Lately, lots of people are getting Fountain Faerie quests and getting zapped by Boochi. Since paintbrush prices are soaring, and these are events that paint your pet, is this TNT's way of evening out the economy? Or am I just going nuts?

I've never had a ff quest though it would be great if those were made more common. I don't want to see Boochi getting any more common, I live in total fear of that event ¬_¬ Imagine you spend ages saving for a grey/plushie/maraquan/darigan/faerie etc paint brush, paint your lovely pets and then have it all destroyed in an instant :/ Always there has to be a Boochi guard - a pet that you can repaint cheaply or that you don't mind being baby.
Meh, I'd prefer it if Boochi would zap you a baby pb into your inventory, that way you'd have a choice and everyone would be happy
Of course I'd be happier if they just made pb REs more common to counteract the awful inflation, I've never seen the Jacko event :|

In response to the intial post, no. There's likely to be many people each day who get paintbrushes, transmogs, and fountain faerie quests. With the sheer number of players, it's bound to happen. However, I haven't seen any evidence to suggest even a slight increase in those events and TNT is certainly not actively trying to curb inflation. In fact, more often than not, they're doing something to further it unecessarily.

It just seemed that way. Three months ago when I rejoined, no one on the Fan Clubs boards were posting about Boochi zappings, finding paintbrushes, or Fountain Faerie quests. If you go there now, there are at least three or four boards boasting a new Boochi zap, and two or three a day for Fountain Faeries. These are also FC frequenters, not just people who dash from board to board. If you do some math, and think that this might be happening at all the other board-groups, the sheer numbers of quests and such happening is astounding, and far more than what was happening even a few weeks ago.
Edit: I went back to the FC after posting this, and found this at the top of the board:

As Trick mentioned, Boochi isn't a good thing to a lot of people. I haven't heard anyone aside from myself, that's gotten a Fountain Faerie Quest on the Neocolours forums in a while. There may be a streak going on, or people may be doing things that increase their pageviews recently. It's the first I've heard of it as I don't frequent the neoboards and there's only been one mentioned here in the current Gloat & Cry.

Definitely not, pb prices are out of control at the moment and I haven't seen any impact from the WC yet - demand is still far outstripping supply and I haven't seen a dip...well for as long as I can remember actually. You only need to look at faerie pb prices over the last few months, a pb that doesn't even have an avatar (yet *gulp*), to see inflation doing it's worst =(

At least faerie inflated semi-naturally. It's a testament to how good the recent batch of pets is. Before, I don't think there were any faerie pets worth paying more than 300-400k for. That certainly doesn't mean I'm a fan of inflation, but if they go back and update some of the older faerie pets and keep releasing beautiful ones like the pteri, then it should rightfully be around the same price as the high level redraws like Darigan and grey. Howver, I don't think any of those brushes should be more than a million np. Except for Royal perhaps, but only because I'd be happy to never see another royal pet aside from flotsam.

Have you seen the prices of Neopia Central peices these days? You can get the whole thing for just 225k (I think) it was worth much more last week.
