That certainly makes sense, given the upcoming Haunted Woods plot rumored for this Fall.

It was only a matter of time. I know a Wizards of the Coast representative posted on the Wizards boards sasying the next expansion was Haunted Woods after The Darkest Faerie was released.

Should be interesting.

Just wondering...
Aren't TCG sets usually accompanied with some sort of plot on neopets? If thats the case they should we be expecting a Haunted Woods plot some time soon?

Yes, as bettywales said, there will be a Haunted Woods-themed plot in the fall. Hopefully it'll correlate with Halloween as well, that'd be cool.

Whats wrong with the lack of advetising? They did it the first few times in order to get the ball rolling. Now that is a different part of neo, away from the site. I for one am glad we no longer get bombarded with "buy our stuff!!!!"

Err I meant "updates" not "advertising"

They (both wizards and neopets) not even put the latest tcg list (travel in neopia) etc...

It might have been that that set was just a reprint or something.

But I agree. It seems as if TNT and Wizards don't care about the TCG anymore. It's slowly dieing...

Sooner than that, was it in the editorial last week when they said something big was happening in June?

Edit: Found it. Pasted from the Editorial of issue 239.

The Altador plot is a "mini-plot" so there will be no comic to speak of. It's taking place entirely in Altador. (:o! Was that a hint for future clues?!) The portal in Faerieland is merely the current way to get to Altador. This plot is basically something we're doing to hopefully entertain everyone while we're planning our next big event. Oops... erm, there's no big event coming soon... like in June or something. Honest.

Honestly, as someone who has bought at least two to three boxes of each expansion, it has always been considered 'dying'. People think that nobody plays, but trust me, this game sells, it just isn't played. Plenty of kids and some adults purchase the cards just to collect, whereas other games most everyone who buys the game plays them. Plus, a lot of people purhcase the cards solely for the rare item codes (I must have redeemed at least 700 or so of those things so far =)

In any event, I started thinking of some dream cards that my be present in the set. At the moment these are just text, but I may get ambitious and make some card images.

Carnival of Terror
Location
Any Ghost card is +2 Magic and +2 Agility here. At the end of the turn, if neither player controls a Ghost card at this location, all Neopets must move to another arena or be discarded.

Hmm, need to work on the wording a bit.

The June event is rumored to be the release of Lutari Island (there are currently tons of images on the servers -- petpets, bd items, beads, shopkeepers, etc.). I'm wondering if they're finally going to release the other side of Neopia to house Lutari Island and Altador (we will be finished with the mini-plot soon and the land should become visible on a map once we are). The Haunted Woods plot, if there is one, sounds like more of an October thing to me. I hope that if/when we do get that one, it contains a war, because a spooky war would be awesome. But who knows -- right now all we know about wars is that we're not getting one for some time (that paragraph about there being no war in June in the recent editorial was serious).

I wouldn't really say June. The "or something" part makes it sound like an indefinite date, and there's the fact that we know TNT rarely keeps deadlines. :P

Most of them are reprints, but there are 4 or 5 new cards (hissi cards).

I think my daughter and I would collect them if we could find them to buy. Our local TRU doesn't stock 'em, the WotC that used to be in our mall went away last year, etc. Right before Easter I found a small stash of 2-packs at our local Target (in a dark and dusty corner) and bought them all so the Easter Bunny could give them to my kid. Of course, they have not been restocked since then... :x

Totally understand there. I used to be able to find packs pretty much anywhere until Curse of Maraqua. For some reason since then they've become a lot more sparse, but some places still get them in. Not that it matters to me, because I purchase all of my cards on the internet.

If you have a local comic shop or two, call them up and ask if they have them in stock. I like supporting mine more anyway, and they keep a good stock of Neopets TCG in stock (not just the latest expansion).
