Well, I made a post on this already but not many people joined. So I'm making this topic in hope of getting an active Neopet's Irc Channel running. If you don't have an irc client either get mIRC or use the java client in my signature or the cgi client on the zirc.org site. If we can get this channel running it can be great to cut down on plot splits and a perfect place to make those "Not worthy of a post" comments or questions.

Basically you are asking people to leave PPT and join another chat group.

I don't think anyone is interested in that, that is why we come to PPT.

Plot threads are working fine and no-one is complaining about how many there are.

Keeping on topic as per thread title helps move along information without having to sift through countless posts of jibberish.

I will be sticking to PPT.

No, I never said leave ppt, read the whole post please? Irc is a completely seperate thing, its a chat room and can't replace a forum. However, it is a nice alternative when you don't feel like posting.

Nothing wrong with a chat room

In my experience they're more of a place for people who notice each other in passing to actually sit down and have a conversation (Neopets or not). It's a place to make friends, not posts.

For privacy reasons and the safety of our members, it's not a wise idea to be posting off-site chat rooms (IRC, AIM, or whatever messaging system) that aren't affiliated with PPT.
