Collectable Sea Shells

I have just put a shell in my collection, but i cant find where to look to see what i have in my collection.

Please can someone point me out where this is.

You have a link to the Stamp Album (which contains all Album related items such as Sea Shells, Coconuts, Coins etc) on your inventory page.

So i guess once they have been placed its the same as the stamps, we lose them forever?

Yes, that is right. Just like stamps all collections are forever immortalised in the Album. :)
