Ooh, I heard about this.

If I can convince my parents that the result of seeing an R rated movie isn't a murder spree, then I'll definitely see this.

Oh, my sister seen a premiere showing or whatever, and apparently she likes it and got a million of free 300 stuff at Wondercon for no reason. .___.

I kinda want to watch it, but not really. And isn't it kinda murdery? XD

Well the main characters are Spartans, who loved war, so yeah it is.

And normally I wouldn't be into these kinds of movies, but this one looks REALLY good. However, I'm not going to see it when it comes out, but probably the middle of next week (as next week is spring break for me.)

It looks like I'll be seeing it next week, if I can't get friends out to see it!

Murder-y?

Just to forwarn you who don't know the story.... its based off of a graphic novel called "300", which was really a short series that was about the battle whic the spartans faught against the persian army.

Basically, Gerard Butler will be the main character of the true story where possibly the greatest warrior in history took 300 Spartans to defend the land of sparta. Countries were against them. The persian army... was MASSIVE. Thousands and thousands. They were going to take over sparta no matter what... so the 300 spartans had nothing left to do but use the 300 they had, and hold them off as long as they could.

It's really a tale of great bravery, loyalty to your land, and most of all, training/preparing/readiness/skill beating numbers.

Thus, it is indeed murder-y.

And i am SO excited. :D

-raises hand- I actually only came to know about this movie by chance, but ever since I saw the trailer, I was hooked. I kept nagging my friends to go there once it's out, I hope they're still my friends when it does :P

It really was good. The cinemetography was beautiful. The costumes were inspiring, the coloring was amazing. The dialogue wasn't too much (as i feared it would be).

This is a movie I'll see again.

I'm not sure what the reviews in my paper where thinking when they said you would get tired of slow motion. HA I loved those parts the most. Since I'm a person who likes to draw, those slow motion action shots are great. The cinematography was just WOW. XDD I liked it a lot, who cares about blood and carnage, not me!! I'm so violent sheesh. Anyway I really enjoyed it. Not for the young I'd say and beware of some...scenes.

And typically, everyone forgets the three thousand militia fighting alongside the Spartans.
Still, it is based on the Comic so I'll let it go for this.

For them to be actually mentioned in history?

I was never taught about them at school, just that X Spartans held up an army at the pass of whatever it is, totally glossing over the Militia.

I'd also like absolute power, but I don't think you meant that.
