Wheel of Mediocrity Updated

#1 Post by Fuzz »

The Wheel of Mediocrity is being very generous lately. Usually I get almost nothing, but in the last four spins I've gotten two food items, 200np, and a petpet.

Thank goodness for it working again. I was getting tired of constantly getting 50 np and blasted by fire.

What? You can get food or a petpet from the wheel? I'm still getting 10 or 50 NP. Maybe I'll start spinning more often. Thanks for the info.

Oh, so that's why... it came almost as a shock when I suddenly got a food item today. I don't think I've ever gotten anything else from it than 20/50/100 NP or a fire blast.
Great news!

Maybe the avatar will be slightly easier now, too.

EDIT: And again! Got a Neosaurus Tail.

I've heard of a way, though I don't know the exact way to do it, but I won't disclose it's method since I don't want to give anyone ideas, even if it might be fixed anyway. Some people I knew got frozen for doing it, but not all.

Either way, *most* recent people before the fix, but not all that got it, (When it first came out, the wheel actually worked) had used that "cheat" to get the avatar. It was unfortunate to see many people desperate for a new avatar get frozen for cheating over this.

The avatar is hardly new. It came out nearly 3.5 years ago. I've played the wheel for years and before the avatar came out, landing on the 1k prize was a once or twice a week minimum thing. Afterwards I never got it nor did I get food very often. And forget the petpets... I got a Rock on the Wheel about 5 years ago and I'm betting that it's worth so much right now because it was next to impossible to win a petpet off it.

Congrats on getting a Rock, they are worth around 650 - 700k. Nice!!

Petpets are much easier to get now (as well as the avatar), myself and another guild member won a Gruslen and someone else won a Donksaur yesterday and another member got the avi.

We have only been trying for 2 days (only about 10 of us dedicated to spinning every 40 minutes while we are on) and post all our winnings.

The avatar is hardly new. It came out nearly 3.5 years ago.

The Wheel has been broken for at least 1/2 of that time! No-one could land on the picture icons to win anything, so the only thing you could win was nps.
The Charter Chat was running a board with WoM spinnings and even after 2 or 3 boards no-one won anything but the nps. (Maybe TNT saw the boards and looked into it!!)
It was obvious straight away when TNT fixed it, almost every second person was getting better spins and a couple of people got the avatar.

EDIT:

2 1/2 hours later -

Wow, I had no idea about any of this. Didn't know the wheel was broken, never even made the connection that I had never never never landed on any of the cool spaces. Duh. :o

I just spun it now and got a Phtlygon Wing. Not worth much, but I'd never seen it before. Cool! :)

It was impossible to win a petpet off of it because it was broken but now that it is fixed it will happen. Since this was posted I've won two in fact. And I'd say that Rocks are so expensive because they are a r98 petpet..although they may deflate slightly if they are given out as prizes.

A connected thought: I wonder if the wheel can give out Rocks, if it could also give out Krawks and Gathows too.. o_O

In case you haven't heard about it... you can use this script to find out what you'll win from the wheel the moment you click "spin." It doesn't give you any advantage other than knowing what you randomly win. It's nice to click the "x" right off the bat because I know I'm either going to the beast or the volcano.
