Wow, I was no good at poem making before, but now I hopeless with these words

Sat Mar 12, 2005 4:59 pm

Just to clear things up; the poem may be ANY length, but you cannot manipulate the words in ANY way (spacing, plural, etc)

Sat Mar 12, 2005 5:01 pm

You people are very random... I mean there's persephone and canine and this random word I have no idea what it means (Acanthocephalan)

We should've went for the two-three letter words. XD

This is so hard....

Choleric Canterbury
Canine Acanthocephalan Masters
Mitochondrion (Persephone) Yeoman
Sulfanilamide Welfare, Watermelon

Yup, but it seems like you have to put the words in there.

Anywho, look at the Diva's thread, they're not much better off. ;)

Ziggy wrote:“Now that I have received your fifteen words, the challenge can really begin. I want each side to craft the best poem they can - it can be about anything. But the catch is, it can only use the chosen fifteen words, and they may not be altered in any way, be it past tense or even plural.”

“The best poem,” Drew ends, “Will win.”

Doesn't that mean you can only use those words?

(random poem)

Chloric Canine Masters
Acanthocephalan, mitrochondrion
Mizzenmast masters, chloric
Persephone...equilibrium yeoman welfare?
Sulfanilamide, Darmstatium, Scholorlaceous.

Yay. It doesn't make sense at all, but at least it spells something: CAMPS. :P

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm surprised you didn't put floccinaucinihilipilification in there.

Our word choice....was wonderful. xp
Now i'm just wondering what happened to the suggestion of using the 15 most common words in the english language such as...."the, is" but i believe we can pull this off...better than the divas though!

Sun Mar 13, 2005 1:35 am

How are we going to figure out what to send?

Here's another one:

Persephone, choleric Persephone,
Welfare masters Canterbury,
Persephone, Persephone,
Canterbury, schorlaceous Canterbury,
Persephone, Persephone,
Equilibrium masters welfare,
Persephone, Persephone,
Equilibrium, Persephone.

onlinedictionary.datasegment.com defines schorlaceous as "partaking of the nature and character of schorl; resembling schorl." I took this to mean "dark", not literal tournaline. Thought I would mentione that =D

I actually made up a little story with that. XD

EDIT - Sorry guys, we didn't have time to vote on this one (10 minutes left). I decided to send the one I did above in, just because it's the only one with any sort of structure (not that it's good, but it's there). Hopefully that works for us. It should be enough to beat the girls at least.

Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:30 am

Oh.

Okay then Kugetsu. It's pretty nice. ;)

Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:43 am

I didn't feel comfortable turning my own in, but we really didn't have a choice. :\ Anyway, I'm confident in our victory. =D

((Sorry for being a little bit late, there was a party at my house and I couldn't get to my computer)).

"Anyway," Drew comments, "Both of the teams had a ton of bad words to use. Adding to that, the challenge may have seemed confusing (it was intended to be, believe it or not, to see how the team would work together) and chaos ensued.

"Also adding to that, I have received a number of comments that people would like the game to move faster. Well, you definetly got your wish, because since both poems were so mind-numbingly bad, there will be TWO people eliminated from each team."

"First of all, each inner circle must send in one name of who they would like to be eliminated (on their team, and not in the inner circle). Then, each 'outer' circle, or the other contestants, must send in the name of the one inner circle person they want gone."

"I need the votes by 7 PM NST tomorrow night, when they will be revealed. Then the schedule will be back on track."

Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:02 am

o_o I knew it was bad, but yeesh. Oh well, I tried it seems. I don't really know who to vote for though... -_-
