There's a big list of names for each year, me thinks. And once the name is used 5(?) times in all, it is then 'retired'.

Sapphire Faerie wrote:Six hurricane name lists exist, each with a name for each letter of the alphabet, except for Q, U, X, Y, and Z. A different list is used each year, and the lists are recycled and reused (last year's list will be used again in 2010). If a hurricane is extremely devestating, the name is retired and replaced with a different name. For example, Andrew was retired and replaced with Alex. The names on the lists go male, female, male, on even years, and female, male, female on odd years. There are different lists different regions/oceans. I'm mainly referring to Atlantic hurricanes here.

Oh well.
There aren't hurricanes here in Alberta. Only Tornados. I hate Tornados... they frigthen me. Too much force, too unpredictable, not enough warning... bleh.
Not enough places to hide at my camp either *shudder*.
