Sorry, but people are sometimes surprised that I have a genuine fondness for babies, and not in an ogress type way. O_O

Why do you need to be sorry? Because you have a soft sport in your heart? It's perfectly fine Igg. People think I'm apparently heartless but when it comes to babies, I melt.

Also, I misspelt his name, his name is spelt "Rayn". It's still pronounced "Ryan" but that is the Arabic way of spelling his name.

And his eyes are now dark green, my mom and my sister's mother in law predicts that the eye colour will be light green within a month.

Another thing for anyone who knows the answer to this, he is barely 2 days old yet Rayn is lifting his head up (Attempting to anyways), looking side to side and what not. Is that normal for a 2 day old baby?

Congratulations, he's such a sweetie Different babies move their heads around or try to at very different stages, just depends how curious they are I think.

I remember I went to see my brother when he was born, he was less than a day old and was lying on his front while the nurse checked the charts. She turned round and my brother had lifted his head straight up from lying on his front to watch her! Only for a few seconds but she just about fell over at the sight, hehe. From day one he was forever trying to twist round to sit up, silly lad - nothing much has changed there though xD

I think some babies are more interested in whats going on while others like to lie more still and revel in the comfyness

No, not weird, but probably very ahead of almost all other kids his age. My daughter was the same way. From the instant I looked into her eyes, I saw something looking back. And, I don't mean to brag, but she did everything super early. Smiled at 10 days. Began to read at 2-1/2 and write before age 3.

My suggestion is to check out a book entitled "What to Expect the First Year." It's been a best-seller for years and not only does it give great advice on how to take care of a baby, it tells you what to expect a baby to be doing at what age. The book is divided up into chapters for each month of that first year of life. And at the beginning of each chapter, it lists all of the stuff babies are doing at that age: 95% of all babies at this age are doing this, 50% of all babies at this age are doing this, and on down to 5% of all babies this age are doing this. So, you can tell if the baby is ahead, behind, or right in the middle compared to other babies the same age.

That book was my bible when I was raising my daughter. I had absolutely no idea how to raise a child and would have crumbled without that book. Perhaps it would make a good baby gift, Ammer?

Oh, and about the eyes. They are almost always greyish blue or greyish brown at first. The permanent color usually doesn't come for several months. My daughter's eyes were bright blue at birth, but they changed to chocolate brown a few months later.

Or even longer than a few months. Mine changed from blue to green when I was about two years old.

I remember the first time I heard that green eyes were rare. I was suprised, because most of my family members have green eyes. Including me =D

Yup! I've never been asked about color contacts though. They used to be more hazel but now they're just basically green. My mom's eyes are hazel and my dad's are...er...either hazel or green, I forget.
