I forgot to watch last night's episode. Really wanted to see that one. ;_;
EDIT: I managed to hear the songs online, here's my two cents.
Ace: Did a cat randomly start dying during your performance? I don't see the visuals, but that's what I'm hearing. You need to stop with the high notes, Ace, they're not attractive or even relevant for that song. Speaking of that song, I love that song (which is a surprise because I hate Keith Urban). And you killed it. Just like you killed Train a week ago. Now please hurry up and go away.
Kellie: Regretfully, I must admit she did not totally kill this song. Slightly killed it? Yes. But not totally. Much better than her crap rendition of "Suds in the Bucket". Vocally, she pretty much sucks. But this performance was the one performance of hers where I was not cringing horribly throughout. I really love the song Fancy, and though she didn't quite do it justice, she did it well enough for me to not be screaming at her.
Chris: I love Chris. Really, I do. But I hate the song. Chris last night proved one thing- he can sing. He can do more than just scream to the latest rock craze. He can sing. But it was a bad song choice, in my opinion. If you want ballad, fine. But this is a boring ballad. It doesn't show off any kind of vocal skills (because Keith Urban doesn't have any, mostly). However, I salute you from going to screaming rocker to a ballad. It was a huge risk, but you pulled it off in a manner I didn't really hate.
Paris: The first time for me where I have really loved Paris is tonight. A couple notes in there were shakey, but otherwise... just wow. She was right on with song choice last night. In the beginning, it was obvious people preferred Lisa to her. Now that Lisa has left the Idol train, I think Paris is really beginning to shine. Her talent, from this song observation, is great. It was pretty much goosebumps during the whole thing for this one.
Elliot: Elliot is a great performer, and seems like a great guy. But this wasn't really doing it for me like other performances have. He showed nice vocals, but it was really forgettable. The beginning and the middle of the song were just alright for me, but at the ending he got a bit better. He has a great voice, but I don't think he conveyed it well last night.
Mandisa: Eek. No. That song didn't show off any vocals at all, really. It just sounded like some sort of rodeo karaoke rendition... as I was listening to it, I just wanted it to be over. Mandisa has a good voice, but this was just awful. Sad to say, I found more enjoyment in the vocal stylings of Kellie Pickler.
Taylor: Oh look, another rodeo song. I don't know why people keep saying this guy has lots of talent. He's a bottomfeeder with Kellie Pickler in my opinion. This song didn't do anything to help that opinion. This song doesn't show off any vocals, and a bunch of these notes sound way off to me (but Taylor doesn't usually do songs that show off vocals, because he doesn't have much). It was like Mandisa's in the aspect that I wanted it to be over pretty much from the beginning.
Katherine: Wow, definitely something I wouldn't expect from Katherine. Great job, though. I was thoroughly entertained. This song definitely showed off a fun side of Katherine. She usually sings, in my honest opinion, boring songs, and this one was just fun. I didn't hear anything that sounded painful, which is a good thing, considering the amount of that I heard. Overall really nice.
Bucky: How awful. I had hope for Bucky after hearing Katherine do so well, but this was just awful. This song shows off no vocals at all. Considering it's country week, and Bucky tends to do country, I was expecting a lot more. I see a bottom three in Bucky's very near future if he keeps this up for much longer.
Who should be in the bottom three: Bucky, Mandisa, and Ace
Who will be in the bottom three: Since none of those people have overly large fanbases, it could quite possibly be Bucky, Mandisa, and Ace.
