No worries with that. Pluto and Charon rotate around a point that is not within the bodies of either - that is, they rotate around a point in open space. The moon rotates around a point pretty close to the center of the earth.

Ooh, ooh, that's corotation! Because the point around which both objects are rotating is outside of both objects.
(Yay, that's the first time I've ever been able to spout off something I learned in college!)
That also means that because Earth's moon is moving farther away, eventually the point around which the Earth and its moon will be outside of the Earth, and it will no longer be considered a moon. At least, I think that's what my teacher said.
But back to the topic at hand...Poor Pluto. The common people still love you!

Absolutely correct. Actually, there's going to be a point in time when the moon escapes earth's gravity and flies off into space. That means that among other things there will be no tides.
