Ginger, if you ever want anybody to talk to, I'm open to PM. I don't really have much advice for you now.. except, for now, I think its alright to just be depressed a little. But I think after a while, and you're done grieving, you should talk to your mom about seeing a doctor. Do you not want her to know because she disaproves or because you're embarassed?

To become stronger emotionally and mentally, you first have to accept the fact that you are weak. Now you seem to have accepted it, which is great ^^; Just try to keep your chin up, and eventually when you pull through all this crap you'll emerge a little stronger. Trust me :)

I do agree with you about the emotional support. We all give you our support, Ginger. Remember that. We here at PPT are family, so we're exceptions to all of these rules that everyone is talking about. You always confide in family ;)

not that i'm disagreeing with the sentiment there, but i dont always confide in my family, there are things i dont want them knowing!! :P

I meant it happens anyway, regardless if it's deserved or not. That's the way life is.

There's no shame in seeing a therapist. Everyone has their own quirks, some more severe than others. If you want to see a doctor, see one. If your mum finds out, I’m sure she only wants the best for you. It says nothing about the way she relates to you.

The most poignant thing that got to me in your last post is that you know it’s wrong to stalk, you knew what you were doing wasn’t healthy for you. I think this is something you should focus on and build up your resistance of repeating the situation.

You are not weak. You came on here and not only spoke your mind, but told the truth as well, even though it may not have cast you in a particularly great light. This in my eyes should be admired.

Perhaps you need to give yourself a break, talk to your mum if you can. She will be able to give you advice more personal approach and encourage you to make decisions that you need to make.

Good luck

Yeah-huh!

Don't go to a psychiatrist, btw, go to see a therpist. Your GP should be able to refer you to one.

I still think you seem better, even if you may not feel it, for the reasons that werepup just gave here. You owned up to not telling the entire truth and then admitted it, which I too admire.

Obviously there's no much anyone can do or say to help resolve the situation except offer support. So hugs for Ginger and keep that chin up!

Also, I know deep down that there's something very wrong with me, and I've tried to get help but there are so many factors pushing me back.

Ginger, do you feel comfortable discussing these factors? I've spoken to a therapist in the past, and I've also had a reluctance to make that first call, so I kind of know where you're coming from.

Also, regarding what happened in the past when I saw a psychiatrist last year (she concluded there was nothing wrong with me) I'm worried the same thing is going to happen again and all this trouble I've gone to about getting help has all been in vain.

Ginger, please look for another psychiatrist or a therapist. A psychiatrist's job is not always just to find out whether there's something "wrong" with you (although sometimes they need to make diagnoses). Their job is also to help you achieve your goals, and obviously you do have goals you want to achieve.

You may need to speak to more than one before you find somebody you are comfortable with. Please do NOT give up! I've spoken to therapists about issues regarding depression. It is definitely worth it, if you can find the right therapist for you.

Similar things have happened and they all get me to thinking that I'm not meant to get help. It feels like more than just co-incidence.

Ginger, please do not believe this. It is a possibility you're reading to much into things because you are reluctant to speak to a doctor.

Werepup makes a great point. I actually considered going to see a therepist last month because I was getting mightily distracted by members of the opposite sex....

I don't know what to say. Guys, you have proven to be one of the most kind-hearted forums I've ever been part of. I've done so many silly and hurtful things on this forum because I'm useless at controlling my emotions and all that, and sometimes I've been so hurtful that it doesn't bare thinking about. Yet still, when I'm feeling really down you offer support. I love you guys so much and thank you for all of your kind words.

I'm feeling a lot better now. It just seems to have lifted and now I feel fine. I don't think I could have done it without you guys though. So thank you :)
