Most people don't know the connotations anyway, so it's pretty much okay.

Uh uh.. Just so you all know, Cassandra was a daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. Apollo thought she was really beautiful, so he gave her the gift of Prophecy. Only she didn't return his love, so he cursed her. The curse was that, although she could still predict the future, no one would believe her. Now you have an excuse to just ignore whatever Cassi says.

Also, Cassandra basically means "she who entangles men".

I've got a friend named Kairen. Which isn't weird itself, but her sister is named... well, I don't remember exactly, but it's Kai something else. So they're both called Kai.

Well, I've never heard of anyone with the same name/pronounciation as mine (it's pronounced hell-ay-na). I knew a kid whos name was Richie and his brother was Archie.. although I think Richie was his middle name. Apparently there's a girl in my school who's full name is Playte Nife Forke

I know someone with the name Zofia, pronounced like Sophia or Sofia. Also, my maths teacher's last name is Wijigoonawardena, for some reason it gets easy to say after a while. I know someone with the surname Esfandyari-Moghaddam. (o_0)
I knew 2 Jacob's 2 years below me, both pronounced Yacub, both Polish. I knew a Warren. One of my friend's friend's is called Peter (his last name is Rabbitt)

They must exist, as people insist on pronouncing my mother's name that way (it's meant to be hell-ee-na).

But any guy with a last name that ends in "a" and any girl with a last name that ends in "o" would be a weird name since male names that in end in "o" are more common than male names that in end in "a". (Whereas female names that in end in "a" are more common than female names that in end in "o")

Do you mean surnames or forenames? Cos surnames aren't really dependant on the gender...
